Wattle League Foundation

Established as the fundraising arm of Open Minds,
Wattle League Foundation is an organisation working with individuals to enhance mental health and wellbeing.

The Wattle League Foundation has been established the fundraising arm of Open Minds. We are very proud of our rich and unique history. Our organisation has evolved from its inception as the Wattle League in 1912 established to provide scholarships, and with the onset of World War One, to support returning soldiers suffering the traumas of war.

Since our beginnings, the rehabilitation and support of our Defence forces has been a significant part of our social remit and impact.

Since WW1 your organisation has provided strong support to returned Servicemen and women, and it is inspirational to note that your commitment continues today.

I congratulate Open Minds for your initiative with the Wattle League Foundation, and in particular for the support it offers our Returned Service Personnel via the Mates Stay Project in Brisbane. Your support through this project, to veterans at risk from homelessness, is deeply appreciated.

I’m sure that the Mates Stay Project will greatly assists former service personnel and their families who need such support, and I commend Open Minds for their practical initiative.
